OSCOLA: Book - Four or more authors

Book - Four or more authors

To cite a book with four or more authors, use this format:

author and others, | title | (edition, | publisher | year)

Footnotes

In the footnotes, the reference will look like this:

Aisha Dey and others, Civil Litigation in Context (16th edn, OUP 2019).

Page numbers are optional in the footnotes, but should not be used in the Bibliography. To add a page number, simply include the number, do not include ‘p’ or ‘page’. The footnote reference would look like this:

Aisha Dey and others, Civil Litigation in Context (16th edn, OUP 2019) 103.

Edition information should be included unless the book is in its first edition; there is no need to write "1st edn". Use numbers for the edition ("3rd", not "third"), and abbreviate "edition" to "edn".

Bibliography

In the Bibliography, place book references in the List of References. The reference is similar to the footnote citation, apart from the author’s name is formatted differently and there is no full stop at the end on the Bibliography reference.  A citation for a book with four or more authors will look like this in the bibliography:

Dey A and others, Civil Litigation in Context (16th edn, OUP 2019)
