Using our libraries

All you need to know about using the libraries on our campuses

Closure of Guildford Library

Our Guildford Library closed permanently at the end of May 2024.

Below you will find details of how you can continue to get support from Library & Learning Skills.

Places to study

If you would like a place to study with free wifi in the local area we recommend you register at a nearby local library in Surrey.

If you are not based in Surrey, you can identify nearby local libraries using the gov.uk website:

Alternatively, you may be able to apply for a visitor's pass for the University of Surrey and use their facilities but as a member of the public.

The library will be reserved for their own students at certain times (e.g. during their assessment period)

Please note:

  • We are unable to participate in the SCONUL access scheme due to our status as a private university
  • The facilities at our partner universities (e.g. Reading, Royal Holloway and Southampton) can only be used by ULaw students enrolled to study there.

If you have any questions about where you might be able to visit, please get in contact with us.
